- What should I do if I cannot return the rental gear on my scheduled return date?

Advance payment is required. We accept cash and credit cards.
- What’s the difference between your “High Performance” and “Standard” ski/snowboard rentals?
Our "Standard" ski and snowboard rentals are ideally suited for those who are new to the sport or comfortable on intermediate slopes. The "High Performance" category offers a wider selection of skis and boards designed for advanced skiers and snowboarders. This allows you to choose equipment that matches specific snow conditions and your preferred riding style.
- Can I request a particular ski or snowboard when I book?
We don't take reservations for specific ski or snowboard models. While we operate on a first-come, first-served basis for specific models, our staff will be happy to help you choose the best equipment from our available selection when you arrive.
- I have lost the gear I rented. What should I do?
Please come to our shop as soon as possible so we can assess the situation. We'll need to discuss the replacement cost and arrange for compensation.
- Can I return the equipment to a different location?
Yes. You can return your gear to any of our official SPICY locations within the Hakuba Valley: Echoland, Happo Lounge, Wadano, Iwatake, and Tsugaike.

- What sizes of boots do you have available?
We stock the following boot sizes:
- Ski boots: 16 cm - 34 cm
- Snowboard boots: 18 cm - 32 cm
- What sizes of jacket and pants do you have available for rent?
Our rental ski and snowboard clothing comes in the following sizes:
- Kids: 80-150 cm
- Adult Jacket: XS - 7L
- Adult Pants: XXS - 7L
- Can I pick up my rentals the day before to avoid the morning rush?
Yes. You're welcome to pick up your rentals for the next day starting from 3:00 PM. To allow time for fitting, please arrive at least 20 minutes before closing.

- When do I need to return the rental gear?
Please return all rented items before the close of business on your scheduled return day.

- Is it possible to change my boot size if I find they are uncomfortable?
Yes. You can exchange your boots, or any other equipment, for a different size at any point during your rental.
- What is your insurance policy on equipment?
We offer an optional damage waiver. It costs ¥500 per person for up to 2 days, or ¥1,000 per person for 3 days or more. This waiver covers accidental damage to your rental equipment. Please note that damage resulting from negligence, such as riding on roads, is not covered.
- Can I change between skis and snowboard?
Yes, you can swap between skis and a snowboard for a fee of ¥500 per change.
- Do I need an ID to rent?
No, you do not need to present an ID to rent equipment. However, our staff will ask for the name of your accommodation and your phone number for our records.
- What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards, and the following e-money services: iD, Transportation IC, Rakuten Edy, WAON, and nanaco.
- How do I make a reservation?
To make a reservation, please place your order through our online booking website (https://webrental.spicy.co.jp/en/). You can cancel your booking free of charge until the day before your scheduled pick-up date.
- What kind of skis and snowboards do you have for High Performance rentals?
For our latest High Performance ski and snowboard lineups, please visit our Rental Gear Page: https://spicy.co.jp/en/winter_newgear/. We also stock other high-performance models from previous seasons. Since our stock changes regularly, we encourage you to visit our store to see our current availability.
- Do you rent goggles and gloves?
Unfortunately, we do not rent goggles or gloves. For hygiene reasons, these items are available for purchase at our stores.
- Are wrist guards available for rent?
Unfortunately, we do not rent wrist guards or other protective equipment besides helmets. We sometimes have wrist guards for sale in limited quantities. To check if they are currently in stock, please contact our store directly: https://spicy.co.jp/en/shop/.
- What brands of ski boots or snowboard boots do you have?
For ski boots, we carry brands such as Head, Genfactory, Dalbello, Salomon, Atomic, and K2. Our snowboard boot selection includes Head, Burton, Vans, and DC.
